Monday October 12 is a public holiday, so the weekend runs Saturday to Monday, and it lands right on top of EDC at the Atanasio Girardot, which sits inside Laureles-Estadio. Add Altavoz at Parque Norte and it is the busiest weekend of the year around here. If you are coming, book now. If you live here, this is what to expect.

Claustro Comfama San Ignacio, Patio Teatro Free entry
Free open-air salsa on Sunday afternoon, October 4, and they have added October 11 too. Beginners are welcome; the whole point is that the floor absorbs them.
Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot
Saturday and Sunday, from mid-afternoon until late, at the stadium complex on the edge of the neighbourhood. Expect Estadio Metro station packed before and after, heavy traffic and likely closures on the roads around the Unidad Deportiva, and very few free rooms in Laureles. Not going? Eat early on 39D and keep away from the stadium side after dark.
Parque Norte
Three days of live music from Saturday through the Monday holiday: the city's long-running rock, hip hop and alternative festival. From Laureles, take Metro line A north to Universidad station.
Teatro Pablo Tobón Uribe
Sleeping Beauty as classical ballet, with costumes that light up on a dark stage. A holiday-weekend plan that has nothing to do with a festival.
Primer Parque · Laureles
The first business to ask to be in this guide, and a very practical one for a weekend when half the neighbourhood is in festival clothes. Load a self-service machine a block off the Primer Parque, order a burger or a coffee while it runs, and you are done in one trip. They also do wash-and-fold with delivery.
